Bratislava, February 24 (TASR) - Slovakia presented its investment and business opportunities as part of a European Union-New Zealand Trade Conference held in the New Zealand city of Auckland on Tuesday.
The presentation with a hundred home-grown entrepreneurs in attendance was staged by Dusan Horniak, business advisor to Slovakia's Economy Ministry for New Zealand and Australia, and Peter Kiely, honorary consul in Auckland. It concerned the conditions in Slovakia for manufacturing pre-fab houses, processing food and the provision of various services.
Mauro Petriccione, Director of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade, said that he sees major potential for further growth in Slovakia's foreign trade by expanding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). According to him, it is these firms above all that can significantly improve exports by the efficient use of online information concerning tactics for exporting to foreign markets.
Peter Hamilton, deputy secretary at New Zealand's Ministry of Trade, said that Slovakia and New Zealand have massive potential for further developing relations, especially in terms of the export of industrial goods, as New Zealand imports many of these.
