Budapest, February 24 (TASR) - Slovakia has welcomed the initiative of Visegrad Four (V4) countries to support North-South interconnection of gas pipelines and asked Hungary in this respect to speed up the connection of Slovak and Hungarian pipelines, Slovak Premier Robert Fico said after the V4 summit session on Wednesday.
According to Fico, Croatian Premier Jadranka Kosor promised that the public discussion in her country is over and construction works on liquefied gas terminal are set to begin. The terminal should be put into operation within the next four years.
"I've asked the Hungarian Premier (Gordon Bajnai) at once to speed up the connection (of the Adria pipeline) between Slovakia and Hungary, necessary for other connections with Polish and Croatian terminals. Thus, all four Visegrad countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) could see benefits," said Fico.
