Date for Relaunching Full Road-Toll System Still Unknown

Bratislava, February 22 (TASR) - The final date for re-launching the electronic road-toll system for lorries in its full form was still unknown even after a meeting between representatives of the Transport Ministry, road hauliers, National Highway Company (NDS) and toll provider SkyToll on Monday.
"The definite result will be known after another meeting scheduled for Friday. There were certain technical details that we still want to examine," said Transport Ministry spokesman Stanislav Jurikovic. He didn't rule out the possibility that the full re-launch may take place on March 1, however.
"Not one of the technical objections that were raised today is serious enough to stop us from being able to launch it on March 1," said Jurikovic.
Vice-president of the CESMAD hauliers association Pavol Jancovic said that the fundamental problems with the system have been removed.
"From our point of view, the fundamental things are functioning, such as sections and tariffs," said Jancovic, adding that certain "minor operational-technical matters" haven't been resolved yet. This concerns administrative problems and the transmission of data, he said.
