Kramplova: I May Become Vice-chair of Alliance for Europe of Nations

Bratislava, February 22 (TASR) - Independent MP (formerly LS-HZDS) Zdenka Kramplova conceded on Monday that she may become a vice-chair of the Alliance for Europe of Nations (AZEN) party, which is chaired by her former party colleague Milan Urbani.

Apart from AZEN's programme and political culture, Kramplova appreciates the possibility of working together with people she already knows.

"One always prefers working alongside familiar people," said Kramplova, adding that she hasn't made the final decision yet. "We're at the negotiations phase at the moment," she added.

Kramplova will make up her mind based on stances. "I need to ascertain what's possible and what isn't. That will allow me to make a decision on whether I'll be able to fulfil some quite interesting points of AZEN's programme," said Kramplova, according to whom it's important that AZEN won't be a one-off party. "It's important for the party to be of some use to people also in terms of regional politics as well as of a new political culture."

Although initially surprised, Kramplova also appreciates the joint candidacy list that AZEN has drawn up with the Roma Initiative of Slovakia (RIS). She's convinced that this alliance could contribute to addressing the Roma issue. "The Roma people represent a great force to be reckoned with and to work together with. As long as such a partnership yields productive results and not only spent money, it's a good idea," she said.

Kramplova and Urbani were both ousted from HZDS in late 2009.
