Bratislava, February 22 (TASR) - Slovak Premier Robert Fico expects the Culture Ministry to help boost tourism without affecting his original responsibilities in the field of culture, he said Monday.
As of July 1, the Culture Ministry will change its name to the Culture and Tourism Ministry, and adopt tourism under its remit. Hence, it will become "the ministry of significant economic potential", according to Fico.
Culture Minister Marek Madaric said that the field of tourism offers many job opportunities. "Whoever will head up this ministry should become the godfather of tourism, which should become a national priority for the Slovak government," said Madaric.
