Bratislava, February 19 (TASR) - The reform of social contributions has the highest priority in the election manifesto of the extra-parliamentary Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party, party leader Richard Sulik told a press conference on Friday.
"The state should guarantee a minimum subsistence level and basic healthcare to every citizen. Those who want more will have to make an effort themselves," said Sulik.
The consolidation of public finances, halting the country's plunge into debt and zero tolerance of corruption are also what the party will focus on in its programme.
"The manifesto focuses on the economy, but also features other issues that concern individual freedom, culture, sport and other areas. The economy has a prominent place because it's in need of urgent measures," said party vice-chairman Juraj Miskov.
The party's programme is divided into three main areas - the economy, society and security. It features a total of 120 proposals that put two main values centre-stage, namely an improvement in the basic level of solidarity and an increase in personal freedom. "All these proposals are in line with common sense at the same time," added Miskov.
