Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 Winners Announced

Bratislava, February 18 (TASR) - Michal Stencl, founder and chairman of Sygic company, was named Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 of the Slovak Republic from a field of 30 nominees.
The criteria used by the jury in making its decision included the entrepreneur's personality, financial results and strategic orientation.
Stencl founded Sygic to develop navigation software in 2004 and has worked its way up the rankings among big four navigation software developers – namely TomTom, Garmin and Navigon. Last year Sygic was the first firm to have produced navigation for Apple iPhone for which they sold 60,000-plus licenses. In the segment, Sygic is the leader on the Australian market.
The award Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 for innovation went to Juraj Hudy, founder of XRAY company specialising in the design and bodyworks of race cars sold around the world.
Tatiana Kyselova, who founded the pelicantravel.com company in 2004, received the award Start-up Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009. The company has become Slovakia's biggest air ticket dealership.
Entrepreneur of the Year was launched in 1986 by Ernst&Young; (US). Last year saw national competitions in more than 40 countries, and the respective victors will compete for the World Entrepreneur of the Year. The global finals are to take place in Monte Carlo in June 2010.
