Bratislava, February 17 (TASR) - Slovak-German relations are very good indeed, be it at the top level and among entrepreneurs as well as in the sphere of culture, Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic said following his meeting with Germany's Foreign Minister and Vice-Chancellor Guido Westerwelle on Wednesday.
Gasparovic went on to praise the quality of bilateral economic relations. "Not only is Germany our most important business partner, but also a key investor in our economy. And these economic relations were fostered after Slovakia joined the European Union. We wish the German economy a speedy recovery, for if you're doing well, our economy will be well off too," said the Slovak President.
Westerwelle echoed Gasparovic's views concerning the quality of Slovak-German relations, and added that "the EU is not an elite club of large countries, and that's why large countries have to cooperate with mid-sized and small European countries, too."
