Rafaj: Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Bratislava, February 14 (TASR) - Voters in June's Parliamentary election should decide whom to vote for based on the actions and not words of the political parties, Slovak National Party's (SNS) parliamentary caucus Chairman Rafael Rafaj told TASR on Sunday.
Rafaj said that SNS represents the only true patriotic party there is, with the serious intention of promoting and defending national-state interests. The proof of this, said Rafaj, can be seen in last week's voting of SNS MPs on the State Language Act amendment.
He refutes any claims that the proposal is designed only as a cheap marketing stunt by SNS. "I can say the same thing about social issues or some economic measures brought up by the Opposition," said Rafaj.
According to him, no change or development in Slovakia's promotion of national interests has taken place since 1998 (until 2006 when SNS returned to Government after a hiatus of eight years), as the individual Governments in power after that point collaborated with ethnic-Hungarian SMK party. "And SMK blocked everything, it even took Slovakia a step backwards in terms of legislation," said Rafaj.
