Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - The ways to strengthen the European Union's (EU) voice on the international scene are the main topic of a meeting between the Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski, TASR was told by the Foreign Affairs Ministry press department on Wednesday.
The meeting is to take place on November 26 in Warsaw, where both ministers are to take part in a conference of the Centre for the European Strategy and Bertelsmann Foundation. A public discussion about the EU's foreign policy is planned to follow.
The EU will have as of December 1, when the Treaty of Lisbon takes effect, new tools that will strengthen its voice in the world. The ministers will therefore in their discussion focus on solutions that will enable the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the European Council President to transform the EU into a key player in the global politics, and, at the same time, to find consensus between the 27-member countries in regards to the relation with Russia, China and the U.S.
