Bratislava, February 12 (TASR) - Non-parliamentary Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party chairman Richard Sulik put on a "financial strip show" at a press conference on Friday in response to a challenge by SDKU-DS vice-chairman Ivan Miklos earlier this week.
Miklos in his blog called on Sulik to release a list of all the donations that his party has received since it was set up in early 2009.
"As a party, we've collected around €230,000 in donations and approximately €80,000 in membership fees. All the donors are members of the party, except for Jan Oravec (president of the Association of Slovak Entrepreneurs), who was our candidate in the European Parliament elections in June 2009," said Sulik, who has been the most generous donor to SaS.
"The list (of donors) is available on SaS's website (www.strana-sas.sk) and is being updated regularly," added Sulik.
Miklos's challenge appeared on Wednesday in his blog under the headline 'Sulik Trusts (Premier Robert) Fico'. "Let him put on a similar financial strip show to the one that we in SDKU-DS did. They've spent quite a lot of money to date, the (election) campaign won't be cheap and they aren't getting a single cent from the state budget," wrote Miklos.
