Bratislava, February 11 (TASR) - Flights between Bratislava and Moscow will be resumed in early March, Russian airline Aeroflot announced on Thursday following talks with representatives of the Slovak Transport, Posts and Telecommunications Ministry.
"Transport Minister Lubomir Vazny and Russian Ambassador to Slovakia Alexander Udaltsov became immediately engaged in the issue with a commitment to restore the flights as soon as possible, taking into account political and social perspectives. Aeroflot's General Director Vitaly Savelev re-evaluated the economic indicators and decided on the renewal of the link after a six-week hiatus," said spokesman for Slovakia's Transport Ministry Stanislav Jurikovic.
The first flight is set to take place on March 5. As of March 27, Aeroflot will run one flight per week to and from Moscow. As of the beginning of June, the company will operate two flights a week.
