Interior Ministry Set to Turn Patrol Cars into Intelligent Vehicles

Bratislava, February 6 (TASR) - Interior Minister Robert Kalinak has earlier this week announced plans to fit out police cars with movie cameras which will among other things shield officers and drivers from corruption suspicions.
The devices were last year successfully tested across Slovakia and proved useful for example during the transportation of large amounts of euros prior to the country's currency changeover to the euro from 2009.
When installed cameras would shoot relevant goings-on in front of the car e.g. verify number plate data of the car driving ahead and
serve as anti-corruption measure putting on record writing the ticket fines to traffic offenders.
Other plans consider also installing Global Positioning System turning vehicles into smart cars.
