Real-Estate Market Slovakia 2009 Conference Begins in Bratislava

Bratislava, November 24 (TASR) - Questions about the current situation on the Slovak real-estate market with the focus on development and residential projects and trends in the prices of apartments and offices are dominating the Real-Estate Market Slovakia 2009 professional conference that began in Bratislava on Tuesday.
Experts agreed that even though the prices of apartments have fallen and will do so further due to the crisis, residential projects are still being carried out.
As for the prices of apartments, National Association of Real-Estate Agencies president Lubomir Kardos said that it's quite common at the moment that along with lower prices, many sellers are offering garages and kitchen units free of charge. The prices of new apartments are decreasing, but the prices of old ones remain the same and in some locations are even rising, said Kardos, adding that this is a good sign for the future. He also said that due to this banks may be more forthcoming in their credit policies.
In a discussion about offices, it was stated that now is a good time to prepare for the construction of administrative buildings as many projects have been halted and once demand grows, this kind of real estate will be lacking on the market. Gabor Zaszlos from Trigranit Development Slovakia also said that this segment of the market won't stay in the doldrums for good, but the inflow of foreign investments won't be as dynamic as in the past.
