Bratislava, February 3 (TASR) - Prosecutor-General Dobroslav Trnka on Wednesday said that his Office will reveal details concerning the decision to halt criminal proceedings in the case of alleged fictitious SDKU-DS party donors in 2006.
According to a ruling of the Supreme Court, this information should have only been revealed to the Fair-play Alliance. "I'll disclose it not only to the Fair-play Alliance, but to all Slovaks," said Trnka. "I'll publish it in the complete wording of all writs, rulings and verdicts of all courts, and let the public make up its own mind about what the ruling is like," he said, adding that he views the Supreme Court's decision misleading and is worried that it will open a Pandora's box.
The Fair-play Alliance won a case against the Prosecutor-General's Office at the Supreme Court according to which the Office has to disclose the reasons behind the decision to halt proceedings in the case of fictitious SDKU donors, Fair-play Alliance director Zuzana Wienk told TASR at the beginning of January. According to her, the Prosecutor-General's Office had refused to provide the documents, claiming that the law doesn't allow this and that people should be satisfied simply with the ruling itself.
The case of fictitious donors concerned alleged financial donations to the party from private entities, who later denied that any such donations had been provided to SDKU.
