Bratislava, February 2 (TASR) - The extra-parliamentary Freedom of Solidarity(SaS) party blamed Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paska (Smer-SD) for putting his own party interests above those of citizens after he called its initiative to call a referendum on topical issues a 'political adventure' and an 'attempt to attract attention'.
SaS announced on Thursday that late last year it had collected the 350,000 signatures needed to call Referendum 2009 in Slovakia and is set to submit it to President Ivan Gasparovic under whose authority plebiscites fall.
In the referendum SaS seeks support for such referendum proposals as scrapping television and radio concessionary fees, curtail immunity of MPs, downsizing Parliament to 100 from 150 and others.
