Slovakia Has Earned More Than €6.2 million on Road-Tolls

Bratislava, January 29 (TASR) - The newly introduced electronic road-toll system earned the state budget more than €6.2 million during its first 28 days in operation, road-toll provider SkyToll's media representative Lenka Lendacka said on Friday.

Lorries subject to road-tolls have clocked up just over 19 million transactions so far, with around 117,000 vehicles registered within the system.

The fast-tracked OBU Board Unit shops - so-called Super Contact Spots - will be closed down as of 5 p.m. on Friday because hauliers have used them less often than expected. "Hauliers will still have a network of more than a hundred contact and distribution spots at their disposal," said Lendacka.
