Jamaica Wants to Place Honorary Consulate in Slovakia

Kingston, January 28 (TASR) - Jamaica is interested in placing an honorary consulate in Slovakia, and as soon as possible, TASR learnt on Thursday from Slovakia's Ambassador to Jamaica Zdenek Rozhold, whose office is located in Havana, Cuba.

Rozhold on Tuesday handed his credentials to Jamaica's Governor-General Patrick Allen in Kingston. At the meeting, the officials discussed, among other matters, the humanitarian aid that both countries are providing to earthquake-hit Haiti. Rozhold and Allen agreed that dealing with the damage caused by the earthquake will require long-term and unmercenary help from the whole international community.
