European Ministers Come to Bratislava for Foreign Affairs Ministry Ball

Bratislava, January 24 (TASR) - A record number of ministers from EU-member states attended a ball organised by the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry in Bratislava on Saturday, TASR learned from ministry spokesman Peter Stano on Sunday.

Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak's invitation was accepted by many guests, including his foreign counterparts Carl Bildt (Sweden), Samuel Zbogar (Slovenia), Michael Spindelegger (Austria) and Jan Kohout (the Czech Republic), along with Czech Minister for European Affairs Juraj Chmiel.

"Despite the presence of so many prominent guests, I'd like to remind everyone that this is a social event, with no room for political and working discussions," Lajcak told some 300 ball-goers at the start of the event.

The ball was also attended by four Slovak ministers, three former foreign affairs ministers, Slovak diplomats, businessmen, sportsmen and well-known personalities from the sphere of culture.
