Bratislava, January 19 (TASR) – The Slovak Government recommends that Hungarian centre-right party Fidesz (led by former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban) should deal with its complexes on the domestic political scene, Slovak Premier Robert Fico said at a news conference on Tuesday.
Fico stated that it's Hungary where murders of members of the Roma community have been registered.
The premier was in this way responding to what he called attacks on the designated Slovak EU Commissioner Maros Sefcovic for alleged anti-Roma statements made in 2005.
The Slovak PM underlined that his Cabinet utterly rejects any attacks by "the chauvinistic and Greater-Hungary-praising Fidesz" aimed against Slovakia's candidate for the post of EU commissioner and EC vice-chairman.
Fico said that he views Sevcovic's nomination as a remarkable international success, adding that Sevcovic enjoys the complete support of his Cabinet.
