Petrobras to Mull Investing in Energy Business in Slovakia, Says Jahnatek

Bratislava, November 20 (TASR) - Slovakia is in talks with Brazilian energy giant Petrobras to invest in natural gas storage projects and construction of gas-fired power stations, according to a Slovak economy ministry spokesman reporting Friday on Minister Lubomir Jahnatek's recent business trip to Brazil.
"On Thursday, Petrobras said the company would consider entering the project from the strategic, financial, technological perspectives and its possible inclusion in the strategy of the concern's development," the ministry said in a statement.
"We spoke about our experience from the natural gas crisis in January, Petrobras in turn did of its experience from oil shock when it was processing 100,000 barrels of oil while Brazil required 1 million a day," he said.
Petrobras CEO for America, Africa and Eurasia Ternando Jose Cunha presented Jahnatek with corporate know-how to generate electricity from ethanol in times of crises and contingencies. Jahnatek offered his country's experience gained from its being oil and gas transit country for all of Europe.
Petrobras is a major oil and gas concern who is the third largest company to Exxon and Microsoft in America. Its five-year investment plan represents $175 billion including $16 billion to be invested abroad over the same period.
