Bratislava, January 14 (TASR) - Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Viera Tomanova on Thursday dismissed Opposition criticism of the so-called social enterprises receiving government subsidies in exchange for having at least 30 percent of staff from the ranks of people hard-pressed to find work.
Tomanova complained that opposition parties such as SDKU-DS has disseminated lies for the media in order to score political points.
The European Commission has run audits of social businesses since the subsidies include EU funds and found shortcomings in the companies with social business status. According to official reports from Institute for Governance that Commission conducting on site inspections at social businesses has found major shortcomings.
Tomanova denied claims that the Commission said that operating programme of social businesses in Slovakia has failed, and described the report them as further errors in media reportage.
