Bratislava, January 12 (TASR) - An estimate of the effects of the introduction of the electronic road-toll system in Slovakia that was presented by representatives of the bank board of the Slovak central bank (NBS) corresponds with those of the Finance Ministry, Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Tuesday.
"After we decided to reduce excise tax on diesel, the effects of the electronic road-toll introduction on prices approach zero," said Fico.
According to him, the effects should be "completely compensated". "So the image that somebody is trying to create - that there will be another catastrophe - is anything but true," he stressed.
"Along with the Finance Ministry, we've guaranteed that we won't take steps that would increase the deficit. Conversely, we'll fulfil and do everything possible to meet the 2010 state budget. It's very important for investors' in terms of their view of Slovakia whether we are or aren't able to meet our commitments," said Fico, adding that he expects that Slovakia will be among the countries with the highest economic growth.
