Opposition Wants Transportation Minister Vazny Dismissed

Bratislava, January 11 (TASR) - Leaders of the opposition parties KDH, SDKU–DS and SMK met on Monday in Bratislava to agree on a joint initiative in summon an extraordinary parliamentary session summoned. Their proposal is focused on ultimately filing a no-devoted to voting non-confidence in Transportation Minister Lubomir Vazny.

"What happened today prompted us to meet urgently," said chairman of Christian Democrats (KDH) Jan Figel. According to him, when Prime Minister Robert Fico - thanks to pressure from road transporters - made a step back, he actually admitted that the newly-introduced toll-collection system is not only overpriced, but also chaotic.

Figel also said that Minister Vazny was misleading the public last week when saying that the road-toll system was running well and the whole system is "excellent".

Opposition leaders claim that Vazny is to be held politically responsible for the chaos surrounding the road toll case, and that's why they are trying to succeed in filing a no-confidence motion against him.
