Packa: Talking to Hauliers is Over, Here We Go With Sanctions

Bratislava, January 11 (TASR) - As of now, laws will strictly apply to every haulier who has joined the ongoing protest by blocking Roznavska Street in Bratislava, according to Slovak Police Corps President Jan Packa at a news conference on Monday in Bratislava.

He was commenting on the ongoing protest of small and medium-sized hauliers on roads of Slovakia's capital. It has been going on for five days in an effort to make he Government reconsider the road-toll system introduced in the country as of January 1.

"We're putting our tolerance to an end, and police will use all legal means at hand. Patience is gone, here comes reality," stressed Packa.

"They have to reckon on every one of them will face consequences ... to the fullest extent of the law. And I won't be thinking about whether they need driving licences (to run their business)," he said. "No-one can be allowed to seize the right to inconvenience the public solely to enforce the interests of some of the private hauliers," explained Packa.
