Sulik: We Insist That Dzurinda Can't Chair Possible SaS-SDKU Coalition

Bratislava, January 7 (TASR) - Non-parliamentary party Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) insists that it's only ready to form a pre-election coalition with SDKU-DS if Mikulas Dzurinda isn't the leader of it, SaS head Richard Sulik told TASR on Thursday.
Sulik was speaking in reaction to SDKU vice-chairman Ivan Miklos's claim that such a condition is improper. "It's their right to view our condition how they want to view it. We've made ourselves clear. We welcome the offer of a pre-election coalition, but we've expressed our opinion that Dzurinda is unacceptable to our voters," said Sulik, adding that the party isn't going to change its stance.
According to Sulik, the most probable scenario is that SaS will run in the 2010 general election on its own, but he isn't ruling out negotiations with other parties.
Asked for his views on whether SDKU will be able to accept the condition, Sulik said that he doesn't consider SaS's requirement to be so unacceptable. The party is prepared for both possibilities, he stated.
