Prague, January 5 (TASR-correspondent) - The number of lorries stuck on the Czech-Slovak border near the village of Mosty u Jablunkova due to the introduction of Slovakia's new road-toll system dwindled substantially on Monday night, TASR learnt on Tuesday.
Some 150 vehicles were caught up in a traffic jam during the night, while an eight-kilometre-long line of lorries was seen at the crossing on Monday evening.
According to the Czech police, the traffic jam eased thanks to a decision by the Slovak police in Cadca (Zilina region), who granted a one-day exception to hauliers. This enabled the lorries to enter Slovakia without onboard units for measuring tolls, which could then be purchased on Slovak territory.
Hundred of lorries took advantage of this option before the Slovak Police Corps Presidium ended it several hours later.
