Bratislava/Rajka, January 5 (TASR) - SkyToll, the company that runs the toll-collection system in Slovakia, claims that the system is fully operating at the moment. However, they admit some difficulties may occur, TASR learnt on Tuesday.
"I've never claimed that the system is running ideally. I say it's in full operation and certainly there are difficulties that need to be tackled along the way," SkyToll Director Matej Okali told journalists at a briefing on Tuesday.
He expressed his content over how the toll-collection system (which was launched on January 1) has been running so far. "Given its size and the time we had for its implementation, I'm content," he said.
Commenting on the number of registered lorries so far (66.000 to date), Okali has admitted that some problems may occur especially when it comes to drivers using onboard units. He added that SkyToll is responding to this operationally.
To date, more than €650.000 has been collected via the newly-running toll-collection system in Slovakia. The amount is being transferred to the account of the National Highway Company.
