Figel: KDH Ready to Propose Bill on Delaying Road Toll System

Kosice, January 5 (TASR) - If the Government doesn't submit an amendment to the Road Toll Act at a parliamentary session in February, the opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) will submit their own proposal to delay toll collection by three months, KDH chair Jan Figel announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to Figel, it is evident that the system was overpriced, and that the related tender was non-transparent and chaotic. "It's not only hauliers that are paying for this, but the public also face consequences, as (public) transport is becoming more expensive because city public transport routes are also subject to charges," said Figel, pointing out that in Kosice this concerns three roads and 20 bus lines.
