Strofova Meets Sudanese Ambassador Designate in Vienna

Bratislava, November 20 (TASR) - Sudanese ambassador-designate to the Slovak Republic Mahmoud Hassan Elamin, based in Vienna, presented his credentials to Slovakia's Foreign Ministry State Secretary Diana Strofova on Thursday in Bratislava, the foreign affairs ministry reported next day.
The ambassador laid out his programme priorities focusing on building bilateral ties and business co-operation in the energy sector, research into natural resources, waterways, industrial supplies and agricultural technology.
Both sides agreed on the need for striking new economic arrangements, for instance, mutual protection of investment and prevention of double taxation and the importance of revising a contractual base.
Elamin, on request, also spoke about the most recent political developments in Sudan and ongoing peace negotiations taking place in the presence of EU High Representative Javier Solana.
