SkyToll: Around 56,000 Transporters Have Registered for Toll System

Bratislava, December 31 (TASR) - Around 56,000 transport companies out of the total number of 60,000 have managed to register themselves for the electronic road-toll system that is due to be launched on January 1, road-toll provider SkyToll spokesperson Lenka Lendacka told TASR on New Year's Eve.

SkyToll has opened new super-contact centres in Bratislava, Zilina and Kosice. "The registration area at the Incheba congress centre in Bratislava has been running nonstop since Monday, so the transporters are able to come and register even at night," said Lendacka, noting that a total of more than 100 customer centres have been set up throughout Slovakia, including certain petrol stations and all border crossings.

Registration for the satellite-based road-toll system is mandatory. The road tolls are to be collected on more than 2,000 kilometres of highways, express roads and 1st-category roads.
