SkyToll and CESMAD to Discuss Charges for Installing OBUs on Tuesday

Bratislava, December 28 (TASR) - Electronic road-toll provider SkyToll and transport operators association CESMAD are to hold talks on reducing the price of installing road-toll onboard units (OBU) in lorries on Tuesday, Transport, Posts and Telecommunication Ministry spokesman Stanislav Jurikovic told TASR on Monday.

"This price (€134.90 without VAT) is, in my opinion, exaggerated," said Vazny last week. "It's a contractual relation between two private companies, and it's disputable how the two companies arrived at such calculations," he added.

The installation of the OBUs is being carried out by CESMAD Slovakia, which won a related tender and signed a contract with SkyToll.

Vazny expects that CESMAD and SkyToll will find a way of cutting the price at their meeting on Tuesday. "If they don't find a solution, we'll use other tools when the road-toll system is already up and running," added the minister.
