Bratislava, December 28 (TASR) - Co-ruling LS-HZDS chairman Vladimir Meciar when asked by TASR on Monday whether he would ever make a list of clients of BMG Invest and Horizont Slovakia public after vowing to do so time and again said that he will leave publication up to the discretion of the Prosecutor's Office.
Meciar handed the list to the Prosecutor-General's Office on compact discs two years after the two affiliated non-banking companies went bankrupt in 2002, owing a total of around €465 million to its savers on the promise of high returns.
He expects the Office to take action on the matter as early as sometime in the next six months.
Meciar says that he wants to call to account people who made large amounts of money by investing in the companies before withdrawing their deposits shortly before they folded.
Regarding the list contents, he intends to meet Vladimir Fruni - head of both companies and one of three people convicted to date of fraud - by mid-January.
Prosecutor-General Dobroslav Trnka has said that the list of clients is 99-percent authentic and features a top deposit of no less than €23 million.
