SARIO: Investors' Interest in Slovakia to Continue to Rise in 2010

Bratislava, December 26 (TASR) - The interest of investors in Slovakia persists notwithstanding the crisis, TASR has learnt from the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO).

Work on a total of 154 investment projects has been launched. "The afore-mentioned projects represent a total value of €4.97 billion and have a potential to create 29,042 jobs," SARIO spokesman Marian Janosik told TASR.

Most projects are headed for energy, automotive, rubber and plastics sectors. "Quite a few projects appear in the areas of services within centres of shared services and call centres, as well as in tourism and the production of metal constructions except for machines and equipment" he added.

SARIO expects the investors' interest to continue to rise in 2010. "We believe that we'll manage to conclude several projects on which we're working and are close to the final decision," said Janosik.
