Urbani: I Won't Give up My HZDS Membership, Let Them Kick Me Out

Bratislava, November 20 (TASR) - LS-HZDS MP Milan Urbani doesn't see any reason for playing along with party chairman Vladimir Meciar's ultimatum to leave the party voluntarily or get ousted, he told TASR on Friday.

Urbani was speaking in reaction to Meciar's statement made at a press conference on the same day that Urbani has two options: he either leaves the party on his own or the LS-HZDS gremium will submit a proposal for his ouster on December 5.

"If somebody is interested in not having me in the party, I say I won't give up. Let them kick me out," said Urbani.

When asked why LS-HZDS said goodbye to Zdenka Kramplova before the elections to the Higher Territorial Units (VUCs) as well and now they want to get rid of him, Urbani said: "I will only say that not all the things that are going on are positive. This is a question for the boss (Meciar)".

Urbani refused to comment on the official reasons behind the ultimatum - that Urbani backs the European Democratic Party (EDS) and sits on two party-political chairs. "I've already told the gremium everything," said Urbani, who is convinced that he "has done a lot (for the party) and is still doing a lot".
