Industrial Prices Keep On Falling In November

Bratislava, December 23 (TASR) - The year-on-year drop in industrial prices continued in November, with agricultural products and construction materials getting cheaper as well, TASR learned from the Statistics Office on Wednesday.

According to the Stats Office, it's only construction sector prices that have become gone up. The prices set by industry manufacturers increased month-on-month in November by 0.1 percent, a figure indicating an y-o-y November drop by 5.6 percent. This is due to lowered mining costs (-17.2 percent), the drop in electricity, gas, steam and cold air charges (-5.9 percent) and industry production by 5 percent. Charges for water supply, cleaning, drainage, garbage and services has rose y-o-y by 4.8 percent.

Export prices of industry manufacturers have increased in November m-o-m by 1.2 percent; however, from a y-o-y perspective the prices has dropped by 5 percent. Year-on-year, the electricity, gas, steam and cold air charges have fallen by 23.6 percent and industry production by 4.6 percent. Only the mining cost increased, specifically by 3.4 percent.

Agricultural products prices have dropped y-o-y by 19.3 percent, due to lowered prices for herbal products by 20.5 and animal products by 18.1 percent.

Construction sector prices increased m-o-m by 0.3 percent in November, and this represented a 2.1-percent rise y-o-y.
