Bratislava, December 22 (TASR) - Volkswagen Slovakia employees will have a two-week all-company holiday as of Thursday, December 24, and production will be re-launched on Tuesday, January 7, 2010, the company's spokesman Vladimir Michalik has told TASR.
During the holiday, the company plans to carry out technological changes in the assembly hall in connection with the production of the New Small Family line of vehicles.
The Audi Q7 assembly line will be moved to the SUV assembly line. The Skoda Octavia will continue to be produced in its existing assembly areas.
The new assembly line will be adjusted during 2010, and vehicles from the New Small Family line will begin to be produced there in 2011. The new line will produce Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat models.
The adjustment of the SUV assembly line will require the co-operation of 20 companies and approximately 200 people during the holidays. After this work is carried out, all Audi Q7, Volkswagen Tuareg and Porsche Cayenne models will be assembled on the same line.
