Production at PSA Peugeot-Citroen to Pause for Holidays as of Wednesday

Bratislava, December 22 (TASR) - Production at the PSA Peugeot-Citroen plant in Trnava will be put on hold as of Wednesday, December 23, with the factory resuming work on January 4, 2010, company spokesman Peter Svec said on Tuesday.

According to Svec, during this time the company will carry out regular maintenance of technical equipment, which will be necessary to allow the machinery to operate further.

"In 2009, the Trnava works will produce over 200,000 vehicles of both our models - the Peugeot 207 and the Citroen C3 Picasso. This will be a 10-percent increase on 2008. As far as production volume is concerned, we'll become number one among end car producers in Slovakia," said Svec.
