Bratislava, December 22 (TASR) - The price of €134.90 without VAT for installing road-toll onboard units (OBU) into lorries will have to be reduced, Transport, Posts and Telecommunication Minister Lubomir Vazny said on Tuesday.
"This price is, in my opinion, exaggerated," he said.
The installation of the OBUs is being carried out by road carriers association CESMAD Slovakia, which has won a related tender and signed a contract with the country's electronic road-toll system provider SkyToll.
"It's a contractual relation between two private companies, and it's disputable how the two companies arrived at such calculations," said Vazny.
On his instructions, SkyToll and CESMAD will hold talks on the matter at the premises of the National Highway Company (NDS) on December 28. They should find a way of cutting the price, said Vazny. "If they don't find a solution, we'll use other tools when the road-toll system will already be up and running," added the minister.
