Sulik Decides to Cut Financing For Caucuses By Half

Bratislava, January 7 (TASR) - Parliamentary Speaker Richard Sulik has decided to cut the financing for parliamentary caucuses by half, so they will cost the Parliament only €5,250 per month as of January instead of original €10,050, said Parliament's Office head Michal Niznan on Friday.

"This is another way for Parliament how to save money," he said.

The financing for individual caucuses is calculated according to the number of MPs a caucus has, with a subsidy per MP now dropping from €67 to €35. Hence, Smer-SD caucus (62 MPs) will receive only €2,170 instead of €4,154, SDKU-DS (28 MPs) €980, SaS (22 Mps) €770, KDH (15 MPs) €525 and Most-Hid (14 MPs) €490. As the smallest Parliamentary caucus, SNS (9 MPs) will see only €315 on a monthly basis.
