Jarovnice, January 4 (TASR) – Areas with higher levels of crime will soon see more police officers on the beat, Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic announced on Tuesday during a working trip to Jarovnice in Sabinov District (Presov region).
Slovakia's Police Corps are to beef up police patrols in line with a newly organised structure as of January 1. "The objective is make a significant improvement in the presence of police patrols in areas where criminal incidents occur more frequently, including those in the east of Slovakia," said Lipsic.
The minister emphasised that people living in these areas witness lesser or more serious crimes on an almost everyday basis, and the state should therefore make sure that their health and property are protected.
