Belousovova: Slota Wants to Expel Me from SNS Because He's Afraid

Bratislava, December 20 (TASR) - Slovak National Party (SNS) chairman Jan Slota is considering expelling me from the party because he's afraid of political competition from me, but he can't avoid this, said former SNS vice-chair Anna Belousovova on Monday.

Belousovova was reacting to Slota's statements for TASR made on the same day. He said that Belousovova should have been thrown out of the party a long time ago and recommended that she should undergo therapy. According to Slota, SNS will have to take "harsh steps" against Belousovova if she doesn't stop harming the party's interests.

"Slota is afraid that after the lost parliamentary and local elections, SNS's failures will continue. That's why he's trying to kick me out of the party as soon as possible," said Belousovova.

According to her, Slota started attacking her after she pointed to the causes of SNS's failure in this year's general election. "I still maintain that SNS lost 140,000 [votes in the general election] due to the scandals linked to Slota's nominees," she stated.

When it comes to Slota's claim that Belousovova is harming SNS, she replied that this was uttered by a person "who isn't ashamed, after all he's done to Slovakia, of pasting up more than a hundred billboards wishing people a Merry Christmas".
