Zilina, December 15 (TASR) – Over the first 11 months of this year, carmaker Kia Motors Slovakia enjoyed growth of more than 50 percent in its output year-on-year, producing 207,400 cars in its Zilina plant, the Korean company reported on Wednesday.
Kia spokesman Dusan Dvorak informed at a news conference that in 2010 so far the plant has hired some 100 new employees, and 100 more jobs will be created in early 2011.
Most of the produced cars were imported to Russia, Germany and Great Britain, while only around one percent remained on the Slovak market.
Kia Motors Slovakia is Kia Motors Corporation's first plant in Europe, built between 2004-2006. Production was launched in December 2006, and it is currently providing jobs for more than 2,900 people.
