Radicova: How Six Coalition MPs Voted Was a Shock to All of Us

Bratislava, December 11 (TASR) - The way in which six coalition MPs voted in a second round of election of prosecutor-general, when they didn't support coalition candidate Jozef Centes, was a shock to the rest of the Coalition.
"Nobody expected this. We were standing there frozen, all of us, because we'd had no signals that something like this could happen. There were no signs of anyone having any different intentions," Prime Minister Iveta Radicova told TASR in an interview earlier this week.
She admitted that the current Coalition may not finish its term in office. According to her, there's always a risk that some coalition MPs are capable of breaking the agreements behind the key votes.
Radicova says she still doesn't know the names of the wrongdoers. "You can only tell that someone lies when you catch him in the act. Hadn't the vote been secret, we would know well who did it," said she.
"Anyway, it also means that the Coalition has lost its majority and can't go on in governing the country. It's better to be aware of this sooner than later, because it's not a good thing to pretend that we've got majority when we don't, in fact," said Radicova, adding that the Coalition won't try to do whatever it takes and to use any "artificial" tools to keep their majority.
