David Rintoul Appointed President of U.S. Steel Kosice as of January 1

Kosice, December 3 (TASR) - United States Steel Corporation on Thursday announced that its executive vice-president and Chief Operating Officer John H. Goodish is set to retire after 40 years of service for the company on December 31, while the head of the U.S. Steel branch in Kosice will be also replaced, TASR was told by U.S. Steel Kosice spokesman Jan Baca on Friday.
"George F. Babcoke, current senior vice-president for European operations and president of U.S. Steel Kosice, will return to the U.S. to take the new post of senior vice-president for European operations and global operation services," said Baca.
"David J. Rintoul has been appointed to the post of vice-president for European operations and president of U.S. Steel Kosice, effective as of January 1, 2011," said Baca.
Rintoul is currently general manager of U.S. Steel Great Lakes Works in Michigan and president of U.S. Steel Canada. He is set to head two operations in Europe - U.S. Steel Kosice and U.S. Steel Serbia.
