Bratislava's Volkswagen Facility Produces 500,000th Touareg

Bratislava, December 2 (TASR) - Volkswagen Slovakia produced the 500,000th Volkswagen Touareg at its Bratislava factory on Thursday, TASR learned from company spokesman Vladimir Machalik on Thursday.
The vehicle is going to a client in Luxembourg. With 500,000 produced cars, the SUV Touareg model is only manufactured in Slovakia and has become the plant's hottest seller.
Among all nine car models manufacted at the Bratislava facility in the suburb of Devinska Nova Ves since 1991, only Volkswagen Polo, produced in 1999-2007, was manufactured in greater numbers - 777,000 cars.
Volkswagen Touareg is produced exclusively at the Bratislava factory. The fully-assembled cars are transported to clients in 148 countries around the world. There are more than a million variants on how to customise the Touareg, the production of which began in 2002.
