Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - Slovakia will provide material and humanitarian aid to people affected by natural disasters in Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, the Foreign Affairs Ministry press department told TASR on Thursday
The total value of Slovakia's aid, which is made up of clothes and water tanks, will reach €83,000.
"This is a clear political signal of Slovakia's support for the allies' efforts in Afghanistan," reads a ministry statement.
The aid will be transported in a ministry aircraft from Bratislava to Kandahar on Friday. It will be distributed by Slovak soldiers in co-operation with the U.S. development agency USAID. According to the ministry, this is proof that the provision of official aid is interconnected with the activities of Slovak troops in Afghanistan.
