Expert Forecasts of Slovakia's GDP in 2010 Lower Than in November

Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - Estimates made by bank analysts concerning Slovakia's economic growth in November, as collected and released by Slovakia's central bank (NBS), were slightly less optimistic than they were a month earlier, TASR learnt on Thursday.

The experts predicted that the country's GDP will grow by 4 percent in fixed prices in 2010, which is 0.1 percentage points lower than their estimates in October.

The same rate of GDP growth is also expected by the Slovak Finance Ministry, while the central bank itself thinks that the Slovak economy will grow by 4.3 percent this year.

Meanwhile, analysts expect a slowdown in year-on-year growth in consumer prices. They predict that the prices of goods and services should go up by 1.3 percent on the year in 2010. A month earlier they were expecting 1.6 percent.

EU-harmonised inflation, meanwhile, is forecast to stand at 1.2 percent this year, a drop of 0.3 percentage points vis-a-vis expectations in October.
