Bratislava, December 18 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico welcomed new leading figures of the Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) on Friday for informal talks held in a Christmas atmosphere, TASR learnt later in the day.
"The meeting was held on the occasion that father bishop Viliam Judak and myself have taken over the posts of chairman and vice-chairman of the Slovak Bishops Conference, and Mr Premier wanted to meet KBS's new representatives," said Bratislava archbishop and new KBS head Stanislav Zvolensky.
"The issues discussed revolved mainly around Christmas. We discussed all topics of general interest that are pertinent to the Church and State," said Zvolensky.
The KBS chief also commented on the planned multi-purpose project Metropolis with a casino on the outskirts of Bratislava. "We'd rather projects that develop positive human traits were carried out," said Zvolensky.
Further talks betwen Fico and Zvolensky are scheduled for the beginning of 2010.
