Mamojka: Only Trnka Has Chance of Being Elected Prosecutor-General

Bratislava, November 16 (TASR) - If there is anyone who has a chance of being elected general prosecutor, it is incumbent Prosecutor General Dobroslav Trnka, opposition Smer-SD MP Mojmír Mamojka told TASR on Tuesday.
"I wouldn't have proposed him had I not felt that he had a chance of being elected. The previous results [of the vote in Parliament earlier in the month] showed that he was short by only a few votes," said Mamojka.
SME daily on Tuesday reported that Mamojka, who proposed Trnka for the first vote, wants to propose him for the new vote in late November or early December as well.
According to Mamojka, the governing Coalition (SDKU-DS, SaS, KDH and Most-Hid) pulls candidates like rabbits from a hat just for the sake of it.
Mamojka further indicated that he will discuss the matter with Smer chief Robert Fico first. Fico said over the weekend that it is useless for the Opposition to put forward any candidate, as they don't have the numbers in the House to succeed in installing that person.
